PAWTUCKET, RI
A sculptor in Pawtucket has reached thousands of feet of synthetic Fabric strap across the Blackstone River in screen suspended the same color the art and technique.
Installation, in the shadow of the Slater Mill, drew on the history of the city as the birthplace of the industrial revolution and the modern-day incarnation as a kind of colony of artists. According to the city and the artist Donald Gerola, the finished work late last month, such as weaving ever has done.
“This is the first ever made in the United States,” said Gerola. “This is history.”
